2007 Volkswagen Passat R36

Volkswagen revealed the new Passat R36 model, the fastest Passat ever built and the fastest estate car Volkswagen has ever produced. The vehicle is powered by a 3.6-liter FSI V6 engine capable of developing 300 BHP. All the output is being transferred to all four wheels through an ultra-responsive, six-speed DSG transmission. At each corner are revised springs and dampers linked to up-rated brake discs and calipers to add more bite under heavy deceleration. At the rear a deeper bumper houses a pair of chrome-tipped tailpipes and revised light lenses. The car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and to reach an electronically limited maximum speed of 155 mph. German carmaker Volkswagen will present the new Passat R36 at the Essen Motor Show. Under the hood it hides a 3.6-liter 6-cylinder direct injection gasoline engine capable of developing 300 horsepower. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and to reach a top speed of 250 km/h. All the power is being transferred to the wheels through a direct shift gearbox and four-wheel drive. The new model features a newly designed spoiler on the luggage compartment lid and it runs on a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels.
